Breathing is made possible because of your respiratory system!
What are the steps in respiration?
First you breath by inhaling and exhaling. Second, celluler respiartion takes place which involves chemical reactions that release energy from food.
What is your nose?
Air moves into and out of the body by the respiratory system. Your nose is the main passageway into and out of the respiratory ystem. From the nose, air flows through the pharynx or throat
What is the Pharynx?
The pharnyx is the passage from the mmouth to the larynx and esophagus. It branches into two tubes, the esophagus and larynx.
DefinitionsMuscles for the Respiratory System
In your respiratory system, many muscles are used. The muscles are: diaphragm, intercostal muscles, abdominal muscles, and muscles in the neck and collarbone area. The diaphragm is the main muscle used for breathing. Intercostal muscles are located between your ribs. Abdominal muscles are below the diaphragm and help you when you are active, like playing a sport. Muscles in your neck and collarbone area help you breathe when other muscles involved don't work well, like if you have a lung disease.
